Remember, remember oh yes it’s November and while the nights draw in and there’s a forecast of snow on the horizon let’s keep warm and toasty on nights out with good bands and good company – here’s our gig choices for this the eleventh month.
The 1st sees Cowtown and Avida Dollars blow the doors of the Bell Jar, expect loudness, craziness and a whole lot of love. Bonfire night down at Queens Social has a stonking line-up consisting of Future of the Left, The Wytches and Brazinksas whilst on the 7th Grass House, Shines and Paris XY play the darkened room at DaDa and Pere Ubu and Blood Sport stand in front of the glittery Queens Social curtain.
A venue with a difference, that being Montgomery Hall, hosts local lovelies Blessa’s single launch on the 8th, expect an intimate crowd and support comes from Best Friends and Night Flowers.
The Plug on the 15th sees a top line-up with The Gentlemen, Mike Dignam and Screaming Maldini all playing, whilst over at Queens Social the Monday Club, Sabella and Blind Drivers are prepared to shake the bingo tables. The epic Low also plays Queens Social Club on the 16th.
Leeds’ Post War Glamour Girls take over the Bowery on the 18th and if you’re not sure what to expect from them then read our recent feature on the band.
Onwards to the backend of the month and the 22nd there’s Section 60 at the Plug, the 23rd sees the Cathedral open its doors to a service with the epic Slow Club whilst on the 29th Chloe Jade Simmons launches her latest EP over at Hagglers Corner, closing the month on the 30th there’s Young Peculiar and Kid Coventional’s Joint EP launch at Bloo88 and a whole heap of bands including Little Crazy, Sour Cherry, Frazer, Bluehearts, Snowblind and Caspian Sea at the Academy.
