
Kicking off on Star Wars day, yes May the 4th with the Unconference and a chance to find out more about all aspects of the music industry through a series of guest speakers, workshops and panels run in conjunction with Leeds University, Leeds Metropolitan University and Leeds School of Music. Whether you’re in a band, sound engineer, wannabe promoter or even a writer there’ll be something to ebb you into something new from those who know how.
Rammed into the Saturday is the music, a total pick n mix of delights and this year there’s 100 bands ready, set and erm ready to rock around 11 stages in nine different venues across the city, including Millennium Square. The first wave of bands playing have just been revealed and the headliners include Example, Marina and the Diamonds, Los Campesinos!, The Subways and Ladyhawke. The huge list of accompanying artists goes something like this I Like Trains, Howler, Dot Rotten, Reverend and the Makers, Spector, Hannah Trigwell, SCUM, Hunting Bears, Turbowolf, This Many Boyfriends, Gross Magic and many many many more….
Sunday it’s a little more settled with those wanting to ease their sore heads one name announced so far sees Stooshe play The Cockpit and bringing the mayhem of a weekend to a close.
This year will also see The Pigeon Detectives defending their Live at Leeds football championship crown, who will knock their title, be there to find out.
More artists and special guests will be announced in the coming months so keep your eyes peeled.
