Yorkshire Blues Festival

30th April – 2nd May at Magna Science Adventure Park

Jack Bruce, former Cream founder, the Animals, Spencer Davis Group and much more all under one roof at the 5,000 capacity Magna Centre, sounds too good to be true but The Yorkshire Blues Festival is providing just that.

The organisers have thoughtfully dedicated a stage to the late blues legend Alexis Korner, known as the father of British blues. The festival celebrates the unique influence early British blues has had on the world scene and there is more than a taste of the artistic excellence evident then on show here.

A dream team at a great venue, previously host to some memorable gigs from the likes of Arctic Monkeys and Kaiser Chiefs, now opens it doors to some phenomenal blues acts. Also appearing are Dr Feelgood, Wishbone Ash, Hamsters, Paul Lamb and the Kingsnakes, Zoot Money, Blues Band, Mike Sanchez, King, King, the list is nearly endless. Add some local talent too from Steve French Band and Robin Hoare Band and it’s an occasion not to be missed for blues fans.
