Sheffield Gig Listings: 27th February – 11th March

[wide]Previews Banner1 | Sheffield Gig Listings: 27th February – 11th March[/wide]This week sees us taking a leap, yep we’re all going as mad as the March Hare, there’s been a bit of sun around and we’ve got an ace fortnight of gigs ahead of us.

Banana Hill presents a Manchester/London/Sheffield line up at the Bowery on 28th. The duo that is Brown Brogues bring their lo-fi pop sounds and take the headline, support comes from Londoners French Kissing and local lads Avida Dollars.

The day that occurs every four years, 29th, brings us a special night at The Greystones, courtesy of Club60 with the Unsung National Heroes, Sieben and Pip Mountjoy.

A Hawk and A Hacksaw play Saint George’s Church in a unique gig brought about by Drowned in Sound events on March 3rd. The night presents a brand new rescore of Soviet director Sergio Paradjanov’s classic “Shadows Of Forgotten Ancestors”, a delight for film buffs and music lovers alike.  Although if you remember the ‘baggy days’ Inspiral Carpets hit the Leadmill in a 90’s mind blowing kind of way, remember indie as it was just a few years (ahem 20 years) on.

The Washington see’s Sloucherzine’s Harry Hill inspired ‘fight off’ with Cobra Fist and Mega Aquarians on the 8th, as usual expect fairy lights, glitter balls and core quest intensity. The same night also sees Leeds fella Juffage support jazz fuelled electronic rhythms courtesy of Portico Quartet a night organised by Harley Live in the lavish surrounds of Queens Social Club.

10th March brings sweet soul vibes from the man who is Steve Papa Edwards. On a mission to bring real music for real people it’s a night for love, good vibes and good times, support comes from Ian Britt and Sarah Mac at The Greystones.
