[wide]Previews Banner1 | Sheffield Gig Listings: 19th December 1st January[/wide]So with everything festive going on around at the moment and in the shadow of ‘Black Friday’ there’s more merriment to be had gig wise. This next week offers a whole heap of delights, though it’s clear to see that as per usual the days between Christmas and New Year tend to be a bit on the quiet side. So you may as well make the best of what’s going on over the next five days before it’s a case of relax, rewind and start over…

Here’s our pick of the gigs for the next few weeks.

With less than a week until Santa empties his sack all over your living room floor, December 19th at Soyo Live see’s Alvarez Kings, Pistola Kicks, The Ratells and See Emily Play providing musical delights on their end of year bash. Interlude music and spinning some quality tunes will be Ibiza Rocks very own Nicola Bear alongside Soyo’s residents. As always there’ll be live art and a whole lot of loveliness.

David J Roch, Low Duo and Neil McSweeney take to The Greystones on Tuesday 20th. Expect lingering melodies, laid back vibes and may be a bit of mistletoe for the romance. Definitely not one to miss.

The down right crazy Wet Nuns bring us part two of their Christmas Party at The Bowery on Wednesday. Fueled with support from Banditos and Death Rays you know it’ll get a little bit messy. Mince pie fight anyone?

Thursday, 22nd, brings acoustic delight as the Frog and Parrot offer a Yuletide festival. Kicking off at 4pm there’s no less than 11 acts taking to the stage, including Miss Peren, Ash Holland, Cut Your Wings, Ian Britt, Low Duo, Elephant Keys and Simon Peter Thompson. A truly delightful evening ahead is our reckoning.

The last Friday before Christmas belongs to Hey Sholay, Mad Colours and Hot Soles and a whole heap of special guests heading to The Harley. All three bands have had an excellent year, so join them in merriment and raise a glass to all that is festive.

After all this maybe you’ll need a bit of downtime? Though as the New Year begins to rev up there’s plenty of goings on in club land and dance yourself dizzy at The Harley, DQ, Leadmill, Academy or The Plug or keep it low key and head to the local there’s always plenty going on. What ever you decide to do keep it real, keep it safe and have a blast!
