Sheffield Gig Listings: 16th – 29th January

Seems we’re well and truly getting back in the game gig wise, as always there’s a heap of aural pleasures around so here’s a few picks for the next fortnight:

We kick off on January 18th where ‘The Best Unsigned Band in South Yorkshire’, Left Ajar take to the Washington to ply their trade. Fast beats and heaps of energy are on the cards here, though with it being the Washy you never quite know what to expect. Support comes from Coyote Mad and Bessemr.  value=”always”> height=”225″ src=”http://player.soundcloud.com/player.swf?url=http%3A%2F%2Fsoundcloud.com%2Fleftajar%2Fsets%2Fone&g=1&auto_play=false&show_comments=true”

Suburb bound and Feelix hit the Greystones on the 19th. With their laid back soulful sounds it’ll be the perfect tonic to aide away the January blues. YouTube Preview Image

The Cremorne always manages to pull up a variety of acts the 20th sees Toast Magazine present Ninendo DS and Korg king Harley Likes Music he is joined on the night by Jim Random. Expect something a little bit different but something totally enjoyable.  value=”always”> height=”81″ src=”http://player.soundcloud.com/player.swf?url=http%3A%2F%2Fsoundcloud.com%2Fharleylikesmusic%2Fharleylikesmusic-the-adventure&g=1&auto_play=false&show_comments=true”

Two gigs on the same night, 26th January, at venues next to each other, could we see a bit of girl on girl competition? The Green Room hosts Rebecca Pronsky and Little Robots and the Leadmill presents at The Bowery Canadian singer/songwriter Lindi Ortega and Sarah Mac. YouTube Preview Image

It’s all about charity on the 28th as The Leadmill, 360 Live and BBC Introducing are hosting a charity night in aid of Headway and Sheffield Children’s Hospital. It’s only a mere £2. Bands announced so far include, Blessa, Famous Villians, The Monday Club, Velotones and Steel Trees. YouTube Preview Image
