Latitude Festival 2012

[wide]latitude festival dyed painted sheep | Latitude Festival 2012[/wide]With Glastonbury taking a year off, the time is ripe for one of the other major festivals to stake a claim to be the “place to be” in 2012. Latitude has certainly stepped-up to the plate. Whilst the festival boasts impressive headliners in the shape of Bon Iver, Paul Weller and Elbow, it is the shear strength in depth and quality of the supporting cast which raises Latitude head and shoulders above the competition. Some of the impressive bands playing over the weekend include:

Bat For Lashes
M83
St Vincent
Destroyer
Battles
Chairlift
Alabama Shakes
Janelle Monáe
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
Tune-Yards
Zola Jesus
Laura Marling
Low
Yeasayer
Lianne La Havas
The Antlers
I Break Horses

The sheer depth is staggering. Add to this an impressive comedy line-up (Tim Minchin, Josie Long, Greg Davies, Phil Jupitus etc), theatre, poetry, literature and so many more things for people of all ages to do.

Held over the weekend of 13th-15th July in Southwold down in Suffolk, it’s a journey well worth making.
